Note: Only Super Admins/Admins/Team Leads can do this.

When onboarding a new team member in CharlieHR you are able to select if they are a permanent employee or a freelancer. The employment type selected will tailor the payroll onboarding questions asked of the team member during onboarding such as invoice details or payroll information. You can read more about setting this up during onboarding here.

Team member's type of employment can be found on their profile-> employment tab.

Have an employee switching from a permanent team member to a freelancer or contractor? Easily switch between the two employment types by heading to the team member's profile:

  1. Select the Employment tab.

  2. Under the employment details click the edit icon next to their employment type

There you will be able to add new roles and employment types.

Note: New job titles/positions can only be added with a date in the past or todays date. Once you click to the pencil Icon the fields will be pre-populated with the current role information. Make sure you update all fields with the correct information and dates before saving the new title.

All sorted :)

Have a team member on a fixed contract or internship?

We recommend setting their employment as permanent and inputting their contract end date as their leaving date in Charlie. You can read how to set their leaving date here, this will pro rate their holiday accordingly as well as automatically offboard them on the leaving date selected.

Input someone's leaving date already, but have decided to extend their contract? No worries, you can easily edit someone's leaving date!
