Note: Only Super Admins/Admins can do this.
On Charlie, you can create any time off type you'd like - from a birthday day off to duvet days, time off in lieu, and anything else you can think of! You can also choose to make these deductible or non-deductible, whether you need approval, or mark them as sensitive.
You already have default time off types that cover holiday, sick leave, parental leave and compassionate leave, but if your company offers more time off types than what is already on offer, read on to find out how you can get these set up!
To create a custom Time Off type:
In Charlie, head to Time>Settings, and scroll to the 'Time Off Types' section
You'll see 'Default Types' on the left, and 'Custom Types' on the right. Tap 'Add new type' on the custom type section
Next, you can enter in the name of your new time off type, for example, TOIL
You can then tick the boxes below to choose whether to make this time off type deductible, meaning you will choose whether or not booking this type of leave will affect employee leave allowances, to auto approve requests, meaning approvers will not receive notice of this being booked and it will always be instantly approved, and mark it as sensitive, which will show the wider team that the employee is simply 'away' rather than showing the type of leave they are on (Super Admins, Admins, and the employees team lead and line manager will be able to see the type)
Confirm by clicking 'Update' and you're all done!
Need to Disable or Delete a Custom Time off?
To disable a custom time off type, simply tap the pencil icon on any custom type and tick 'Disable leave requests of this type.
Only inactive custom time off types can be deleted completely, meaning it either need to never have been used, or all associated time off bookings using that type need to be cancelled. Once this has been done, you can just tap the trash can icon on a leave type to permanently delete it.
Note: Once created, a new custom time off type will show as 'inactive' until it has been used to book a day off for the first time. Once it has been used in the system, it will show as active.
