Note: Only Super Admins/Admins can do this.

When setting up your account, it's important to make sure that your core time off settings reflect your company policies:

  • Your company default holiday allowance (unlimited leave or a set amount)

  • Whether public holidays are included within your overall allowance (deductible / non deductible)

  • Setting your company's limit to the amount of days that can be carried over at the end of your holiday year

Your default company allowance is also used to pro rate holiday for your new starters, as well as anyone leaving your company.

Note: It's not possible to have more than 1 default company allowance in Charlie, for team members who have a different allowance than the company default (such as freelancers) check out this article on how to change individual time off allowances.

Set your company's default holiday allowance:

  • Expand 'Time' in the left hand side navigation.

  • Click on 'Settings'

  • Scroll down to 'Default Company Allowance' section

  • Select 'Edit'

  • Enter the company default allowance or select unlimited if your company offers unlimited leave.

  • If your company offers carry over days, enable automatic carryover and Charlie will automatically rollover those days for you at the end of your leave year.

    • Select to carryover all unused days or set the carryover limit policy

  • Set Public Holidays as deductible or non-deductible (the default setting is non deductible on Charlie)

  • Click 'Update' to confirm
